Newsletter: November 2016
Dear Parent,
Ni Hao!
For the past month, the Grade 7 Chinese class has learned dates and birthday. Students now are able to ask and answer dates, days of the week, people’s birthdays as well as asking for permission. They have made their own special time line with ten events in Chinese. They have also explored Chinese lunar calendar and three important Chinese festivals. We’re going to be on the unit of telling time soon. Students will have fun learning telling time and express their daily schedule and activities in Chinese.
Students are requested to check Schoology every day for homework and assignment. Doing homework and practicing the content we learn at home is very important for Chinese learners. It is necessary to practice Chinese at home for 15 minutes even on a Day 5 or Day 6. I have posted notes, practice games, videos, and audio recording on Schoology so students can use the resource at home.
I was delighted to talk to many of you on November 8th at the parent conference. If you didn't get a chance to sign up for the parent teacher conference, you can contact me any time to schedule one if you like. Please feel free to contact me through email if you have any questions and concerns on your child’s progress.
Sincerely,
ChinHuei Yeh
